Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me.

Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang.

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Callibrate your Wacom tutorialHad you finally made the transition from intuos 3 to intuos 4?, or Are you rich to change into an intuos 5? Had you made the transition from a first generation cintiq to the new ones?. More levels of pressure will mean more quality to the paintings, am i right?.
Did you thought that by default the pen will it be like using butter on bread?, you try it for the first time and you love all of it, you said i have sooooooo much control on my strokes im having a blast. Then only to realize you only have total control of the brush but when you are moving it really slow?. But when you do quick strokes the pressure drops a lot of paint making you redraw tons of stuff?
Did you ever thought that painter its hard to handle with new tablet? Too much pressure? If it has more pressure why i cant control more easier the beggining of the stroke which is more crucial?.

Ok, so sorry if I haven't uploaded new pics. I'm always ON, I just never upload anything XD

I've been busting my balls trying to figure out how to make the Trio of Misfits comics. I've shown a page to a few people and they seem to approve of it so far. It's not so much the drawing that's taking a long time it's the flow of the panels that has been pissing me off. I'm treating it like a storyboard for a movie or animation, so I'm following rules of thumb for camera angles. I curse my art classes for making me so hung up on these rules. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, I shall explain. Prepare to be enlightened C:

Design Symmetry [For Comics]
The speech bubbles should be balanced and 'weight' should be distributed evenly among the pages.

When 2 Characters Talk
180 Rule: Within the scene, the characters should always have the same left to right relationship on frame. Person 1 is always on the general left side while person 2 is always on the right. Example:

1 is speaking to 2. Camera is behind 1
[O      o]
1       2

2 is speaking to 1. Camera is behind 2
[o       O]
1        2

_{This is the rule that's pissing me off so much. Damn you continuity.}

Traveling
Normally in animation traveling is reduced to a montages or just clips.

Character Walking
In animation, when a character walks to the right of the screen it leans towards a more positive direction which means something good will happen.

When a character walks to the left of the screen it leans towards a negative direction and usually means danger is near.
_{Not totally following this one. I have a map so I'm just going to have them face in those directions.}

That's my dilemma with the comic pages. They look nice, but they're taking waay  too long to figure out. First chapter will be complete in a week or so. I hope ;__;

AHH they aren't 'real' rules. They're just guidelines in the professional film industry to make movies look better and stuff. I'm just making it waay harder on myself to at least attempt to make TOM like that. Otherwise, you can draw them however you want C:

That's ok, haha. I always like to show my work, even though it might not be at a high skill level like some other artists. And don't worry too much about getting better, it has to happen naturally. And I actually redid one of my older comic series since I wanted to re-continue it and my skills improved

Ahh that's ok. I realized that sometimes you might be better at certain styles than others. I learned I'm not that good at anime, so I lean towards a more cartoony style. It takes practice
